 Did she pay for the rent entirely on her own?
If so, she likely learned a valuable lesson on the first train ride home.

If you are paying for everything (including the train tickets), it gets a bit harder -- she doesn't lose anything and isn't affected by her mistakes.
Pride is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason, and she ought to be humbled by this experience.
I'd make her sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor and live exclusively out of a suitcase (make her walk to a laundromat if one is reasonably close) for the duration of the lease -- or at least until she gives up on saving face.

Anyhow, it's a lot easier to be a tough yet fair parent when they aren't your kids. Good luck with her.
